Joe Rios Memorial

 

Mission Statement:

On Thursday, November 15, 2012, California’s wrestling community lost one of its true friends when Joe Rios passed away at the age of 46. It was decided that the best way to honor our dear friend was to begin an event, in his name, showcasing what he loved the most — quality wrestling in his backyard of Chico, CA.

  •  2024 Dates: Friday and Saturday January 5th and 6th (2 days, 64 man bracket)

  • Cost:

    • $400 a team, $70 for individuals

  • Weigh Ins: 9:00 AM Friday, 7:30 AM Saturday

  • Wrestling: Begins at 11 AM on Friday, 8 mats, 3 rounds of championship and 2 of consolation (approximate end time of 6 pm). Begins at 9:00 am on Saturday, 6 mats, 3 mat final will begin approximately at 3 PM (1st, 3rd, 5th place matches).

  • Awards: Individual championship sweatshirts, top 7 medal, top 3 teams place, small school team champion.
