San Francisco State Offers Free Entry to Youth at Next Dual

UPDATE: Both the 11/2 and 11/9 Dual will be free to 8th grader students and younger.

With Coach Welch at the helm of SF State, the school is quickly becoming the hot new place to be in Northern California Wrestling. A huge uptick in attendance in their first home duals vs. Fresno State and Nebraska Kearney is sure to be followed up with solid crowds for their dual against Southern Oregon Saturday November 2nd. To ensure these crowds, Coach Welch and the Athletic Department, have decided to make the 11/2 dual, a FREE YOUTH DAY. This is a great opportunity for elementary and middle school wrestlers to check out a college dual meet as well as hit the sites in San Francisco.

We’re excited to host our annual Youth Day at SF State for our match against Southern Oregon. It’s important to me that we get in touch with our community and show local wrestlers what wrestling at the college level is like. It’s important to give kids something to aspire to.
— Head SF State Coach Jason Welch

Word on the street is coach Welch is also working on making the November 9th dual meet free for youth as well. Check in soon for an update on that rumor.
